Instruction
Newcomers to lawn bowling are invited to come and learn more about the sport. We provide coaching to get you started and loaner bowls are available. All you need is flat soled shoes.
Come visit our facilities at the Community Centre about 30 minutes before one of our jitneys** listed on the Activities page. Someone will greet you, explain the basics of the game to you and set you up with a coach to help you get started.
Lessons are free. Knowledgeable bowlers will guide you through the basics of the game with bowls borrowed from the club. Instruction is offered in small groups and times are varied throughout the week. We prefer that you attend three to four instruction sessions before you pay any membership fee. New members are also offered the free use of rental bowls for the first year.
* NOTL includes Glendale, St. Davids, Queenston, Virgil, and the Old Town.
** A jitney is an informal game where the members of each team are assigned by means of a random draw.
